Northeastern University Pharmaceutical Industry Fellowships Program is a two-year experiential program designed to advance lifelong learning and the education and training of Pharm.D. graduates. Critical to the success of the program is our ability to prepare Fellows to meet the ongoing workforce needs in various areas of industry.

Our program gives fellows an opportunity to work with our innovative biopharmaceutical industry partners while collaborating with Northeastern University faculty in professional and career development, service, scholarship, and teaching.

In partnership with Northeastern University, Karyopharm Therapeutics. is offering a two-year Global Medical Affairs PharmD fellowship based in Newton, MA.

About Karyopharm Therapeutics:

Karyopharm Therapeutics is an innovation-driven pharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development, and commercialization of medicines with the goal of improving the lives of patients with cancer.

Our company was founded in 2008 with a vision of pioneering a potentially new approach to treating patients with cancer and other serious diseases.

Our novel approach to cancer treatment involves targeting the export of specific proteins in a cancer cell's nucleus with SINE technology.

Our primary focus is on developing novel drugs which we hope will help treat patients with certain blood cancers or solid tumor malignancies.

Responsibilities:

Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic Global Medical Affairs Fellow to work within our Global Medical and Scientific Affairs organization for the upcoming 2-year fellowship period. This role requires a self-motivated individual seeking to expand on their clinical knowledge to apply their expertise to generating and communicating scientific evidence to the clinical community. The fellowship is tailored to giving an individual a well-rounded experience in medical affairs within a biotech company inclusive of scientific communications, medical information, medical strategy, publications and evidence generation. Medical Affairs Fellow will:
  • Support medical information in developing, maintaining and delivering medical information to HCPs
  • Support and manage the relationship with the medical information call center
  • Derive insights using analytics to understand changes in medical information requests for strategy considerations
  • Support Advisory Boards, Conference planning/booth materials, satellite symposium as needed
  • Support the development of innovative internal and external materials that promote impactful engagement, including digital assets
  • Support the publication lead in planning and executing the publication plan
  • Provide medical review for external use for both medical and commercial use
  • Collaborate with the HEOR lead to advance evidence generation efforts (e.g., RWE studies) and support for our clinical development programs.
  • Support field medical affairs through training, reporting, and field opportunities

The fellowship will be divided into four 12 week rotations for year 1 and the option of two 6 month rotations or a 1 year

Qualifications:

Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited institution, eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in the State of Massachusetts or PhD in relevant discipline (e.g., health services research).

Excellent oral and written communication, time management, and leadership skills, ability to work independently and take initiative on a variety of projects at the industry site and Northeastern.
