Research Assistant - Georgetown University Medical Center

The Cognitive Neuroimaging Laboratory, directed by Dr. Xiong Jiang, is looking for a highly motivated individual to join the lab as a full-time Research Assistant. They will work closely with a postdoctoral fellow to recruit and test participants, and to collect behavioral, cognitive, and multimodal neuroimaging data. Primary responsibilities include:
  • Oversee subject recruitment and testing, as well as subject reimbursement.
  • Manage data entry, data validation, and data analysis.
  • Help with IRB application, renewal, and modification, and other research related activities (i.e., GMS).
  • Handle lab management, helping the PI to supervise undergraduate students.


Work Interactions

The successful applicant will work closely with a multidisciplinary research team, including neuroimaging, neuroscience, neurology, computer science, and psychology. The incumbent will interact daily with a postdoctoral fellow, and will report to the lab director.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor/Master degree in Psychology, Sociology, Cognitive Science/ Neuroscience, or a related field
  • Detailed oriented and well organized
  • Srong interpersonal skills
  • MRI experience is not required, but training will be provided
  • Preference will be given to individuals with experience with the older adults or those with cognitive impairments

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$17.92 - $26.80

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
