The Research Technician offers an opportunity to conduct cutting-edge research on organ-on-a-chip and 3D bioprinting. We are looking for a self-motivated individual who is excited about biomedical research. The ideal candidate will work on engineering structural/functional 3D multicellular tissue constructs for hard and soft tissue regeneration by using 3D printing and microfluidic techniques. Additional duties include, but are not limited to:
- Conduct research that requires a significant time commitment to achieve the expected productivity as too much depends on forces beyond your control, but the effort and the time you devote to trying to achieve productivity is an important metrics.
- Present data at a group meeting at least once, with the quality of the presentation, ability to answer questions, and the ability to ask questions of others all count.
- Attend and be on time for all weekly meetings (individual and lab meetings) unless the individual requests permission to be absent in advance because of a legitimate conflict.
- Submit and present 1 or 2 PowerPoint slides on the what they've attempted in lab and what should be done next.
- Keep the lab orderly, ensuring that supplies and reagents are ordered before they run out, cleaning up their own experiments, and completing specific assigned lab jobs.
- Maintain an accurate lab notebook as this allows future students and me the opportunity to repeat prior work.
- Write a Research Summary, a 5-page paper describing the nature of the project, what has been accomplished, and what is planned for the future.
Work Interactions
This individual will perform independent research and report to Dr. Alimperti. They will work and collaborate with students/postdocs at the Alimperti lab.
Requirements and Qualifications
- A Bachelor degree in a related field such as chemistry, pharmacology, biochemistry, and medicine
- A minimum of 1 year experience is required
- Familiarity with molecular biology and biochemistry is a plus

Pay Range:
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$20.16 - $31.30
Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
